About Andre

My name is André Cayer, and I’ve always believed that the simplest pleasures can spark the deepest joys. For as long as I can remember, books have been my faithful companions. I’ve cherished the weight of a hardcover in my hands, the musty aroma of a very old book, and the textured feel of paper under my fingers. These sensory delights are as much a part of my reading experience as the words themselves. And, of course, nothing complements the experience quite like the flavor and aroma of a stout cup of black coffee—a ritual that deepens my connection to the moment.

Every day, I carve out two precious hours to immerse myself in books and journaling. With a medium ballpoint pen gliding over unglossed paper, I feel a connection to the thoughts and emotions that pour out. This daily ritual is my way of exploring ideas, refining my understanding, and leaving a tangible record of my journey. It’s a sacred time for reflection, creativity, and learning.

I’ve always loved sharing what I learn.

Teaching concepts—whether to my children, peers, or colleagues—is one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. There’s a special joy in watching someone’s face light up with understanding or seeing an idea take root and grow in another’s mind. These moments remind me of the power of connection and the ripple effect of shared knowledge.

Over the years, many authors have left an indelible mark on my thinking and inspired me to grow. G.K. Chesterton’s wit and wisdom, C.S. Lewis’s profound insights, Jordan Peterson’s practical philosophy, and Fr. Mike Schmitz’s spiritual guidance have all influenced my life profoundly. Their works have not only shaped my personal development but have also enriched the lives of my children, who share in our family’s love of learning and exploration. Together, we enjoy discussing ideas, exploring new concepts, and finding joy in the written word.

When I’m not lost in books or penning my thoughts, you’ll likely find me savoring a crisp glass of white wine or indulging in a piece of rich, dark chocolate. These simple pleasures, much like the other joys in my life, are moments to be relished. Just as a fine wine matures and develops character over time, I find that life, too, is a journey of gradual enrichment—filled with layers to be savored and shared.

In many ways, my professional accomplishments reflect this philosophy of appreciation and growth. While I’ve had the privilege of achieving significant milestones in my life, it’s the personal moments—the smell of an old book, the joy of teaching, or the glide of pen on paper—that truly define me. These are the elements that fuel my creativity and my desire to contribute meaningfully to the world around me.

I am a devoted family man. Together with my wife Lauren, we raise our six energetic children on the picturesque 7Cs Farm near Edenwold, Saskatchewan. The family embraces a holistic approach to education, homeschooling our children and emphasizing the importance of music and horseback riding in their curriculum. Guided by an "adopt-and-adapt" philosophy, I believe that repetition and refinement are key to achieving excellence.

There are no new truths, only the diligent pursuit of truth.

This approach shapes not only my work but also the way we strive to nurture a love of learning and a deep sense of connection within our family.
